Managers of local radio partners of AFEM SK take ownership gender mainstreaming

Good integration of gender in the media is important  to the advocacy of political and near an effective way of awareness of people. These words are Mrs. Dora Salama, facilitator training of 40 officials of local radio partners AFEM SK.After two days of training, managers of local radio partners in South Kivu AFEM SK assert ownership of these notions of gender mainstreaming. They promise to use it best for a more egalitarian society.Based on the concepts learned necessary, these officials say they understand and internalize several points including: the social relations between women and men, the roles of women and men, the access of women and men to resources, control of resources by women and men, the different opportunities of women.
The facilitator Dora Salama, hope to have provided the necessary elements for a better understanding of gender concepts in order to achieve an improvement in their knowledge and they take into account the gender concept in the development process of their respective structures .As such, gender mainstreaming evaluates the effects of a planned action, legislation, policies or programs on women and men in all areas and at different levels. There were a few indicators of women's disadvantage in most areaslow representation of women in politics, their access to formal justice very limited, the right to inherit virtually limited, the low implementation of human rights can strengthen the maternal mortality rate, maintaining the customary norms disfavoring the woman, the less education than men, the marginalization of the labor market, etc..
